Initial Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation

Your initial psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive assessment that helps me better understand your emotional, mental, and physical well-being so we can develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals.

During Your Initial Evaluation, We May Discuss:

  • Current symptoms such as anxiety, depression, ADHD symptoms (difficulty concentrating/hyperactivity), mood changes, stress, insomnia, or grief.

  • Emotional, social, and occupational functioning

  • Medical history and current medications

  • Previous mental health treatment or therapy experiences

  • Family mental health history

  • Lifestyle factors including sleep, stress, nutrition, and substance use

  • Women’s mental health concerns, including hormonal changes and mood-related symptoms

  • Personal goals for treatment and overall wellness

What the Appointment Includes:

  • A thorough psychiatric assessment

  • Diagnostic clarification and discussion

  • Medication recommendations if appropriate

  • Education about treatment options, risks, benefits, and possible side effects

  • Development of an individualized treatment plan

Appointment Length

Initial comprehensive psychiatric evaluations are typically longer than follow-up visits to allow adequate time for assessment, discussion, and treatment planning.

Brief Medication Management Visits

Medication management follow-up appointments are designed to monitor your progress, evaluate how treatment is working, and make adjustments when necessary.

During Medication Management Visits, We May Discuss:

  • How you have been feeling since your last appointment

  • Improvements or ongoing concerns related to symptoms

  • Medication effectiveness

  • Side effects or medication concerns

  • Sleep, stress levels, appetite, mood, and daily functioning

  • Monitoring for safety and effectiveness

  • Coordination of care when needed

Appointment Length

Brief medication management appointments are shorter, focused visits intended to provide continued support, medication monitoring, and treatment adjustments as needed.

My goal is to create a supportive, collaborative environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating in your care throughout your healing journey.
