Why Use Your Insurance Benefits?
Using insurance can make ongoing psychiatric care more affordable and easier to maintain over time.
Depending on your plan, insurance may help reduce your out-of-pocket cost for:
Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
Medication management appointments
Follow-up psychiatric visits
Treatment for anxiety, depression, ADHD, insomnia, women’s mental health concerns and others
Ongoing monitoring and treatment planning
Your individual cost will depend on your insurance benefits. Some patients may have a copayment for each appointment, while others may need to meet a deductible before their insurance begins paying a larger portion of the cost.
Verify Your Benefits Before Your Appointment
Before scheduling, I recommend contacting your insurance company and asking:

Do I have outpatient behavioral health or psychiatric benefits?
What is my copay or coinsurance for psychiatric services?
Do I have a deductible?
Has my deductible been met?
Is telehealth psychiatric care covered?

Being in-network does not guarantee that an appointment will be fully covered.
You may still be responsible for:
Copayments — A fixed amount you pay for a covered visit.
Coinsurance — A percentage of the allowed visit cost that you are responsible for.
Deductibles — The amount you must pay before certain insurance benefits begin.
Non-covered services — Services that your insurance plan determines are excluded from your benefits.
Patients are responsible for understanding their individual benefits and for any portion of the balance not paid by insurance.
