Adult ADHD Evaluation & Treatment
Online ADHD care for adults in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware
Adult ADHD can affect much more than concentration. It can influence organization, motivation, time management, relationships, work performance, and your ability to keep up with everyday responsibilities.
At Loving Minds Mental Healing, I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing treatment for adults experiencing ADHD symptoms through convenient telehealth appointments.
What Can Adult ADHD Look Like?
ADHD doesn't always look like obvious hyperactivity. Many adults spend years developing ways to compensate for their difficulties and may not recognize possible ADHD symptoms until work, family, school, or other responsibilities become harder to manage.
You may notice:
Difficulty concentrating or staying focused
Frequently starting tasks without finishing them
Procrastination
Forgetfulness
Losing or misplacing important items
Poor time management
Difficulty staying organized
Becoming distracted easily
Trouble prioritizing responsibilities
Feeling mentally overwhelmed
Difficulty following conversations or instructions
Restlessness or impulsivity
Some adults describe knowing what they need to do but struggling to consistently organize, initiate, or complete it.
Is It ADHD….. or Something Else?
Difficulty concentrating does not automatically mean you have ADHD.
Anxiety, depression, chronic stress, insomnia, trauma, medical conditions, hormonal changes, medication effects, and substance use can sometimes cause symptoms that resemble ADHD.
A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation helps look at the bigger picture and explore what may be contributing to your symptoms rather than focusing on concentration alone.
Adult ADHD Evaluation
An ADHD evaluation looks at both your current concerns and your history. Your evaluation may include discussion of:
Current attention, organization, and executive-functioning concerns
Childhood and educational history
Work and daily functioning
Relationships
Medical and psychiatric history
Sleep patterns
Current medications
Previous psychiatric treatment
Substance use when clinically relevant
How symptoms affect your everyday life
Additional records, questionnaires, testing, or other information may sometimes be requested when clinically appropriate.
ADHD Treatment Options
Treatment is individualized based on your symptoms, history, diagnosis, health, and treatment goals.
Depending on your evaluation, recommendations may include medication, behavioral strategies, organizational techniques, psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, sleep interventions, treatment of another underlying condition, or a combination of approaches.
Medication is not automatically prescribed following an ADHD evaluation. When medication is appropriate, we'll discuss potential benefits, risks, side effects, alternatives, and monitoring requirements so you can make an informed decision about your treatment.
Controlled Medication & Stimulant Treatment
Some medications used to treat ADHD are controlled substances and require additional monitoring.
Controlled medication treatment is subject to clinical appropriateness, practice policies, prescription-monitoring requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations.
Completing an ADHD evaluation or receiving an ADHD diagnosis does not guarantee that stimulant medication will be prescribed.
Prescribing and monitoring requirements may also differ depending on whether you are located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware.
Ready to Better Understand Your Symptoms?
If concentration, organization, procrastination, forgetfulness, or completing everyday responsibilities has become increasingly difficult, a psychiatric evaluation can help explore what's contributing to those concerns and determine appropriate next steps.
Convenient telehealth appointments are available for eligible adults in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
